What can the US Embassy in Jamaica Do for You?

Well first of all, the US Embassy in Jamaica needs to know that you’re there! When traveling abroad, especially to countries where weather can be a little unpredictable, or civil unrest occurs, or even if you’re visiting a country where there’s a large percentage of the country off the traditional tourist map, then it’s always a good idea to alert the US Embassy (if you’re American – nationals of other countries should use this information as a guide but contact their own appropriate Embassy) of your arrival and departure dates. This way the Embassy can keep an approximate total of how many of their nationals are in the country should some emergency occur. You can register your Jamaica travel dates online or at your nearest US Embassy office.
Other than registering your presence in Jamaica, the only other contact you are likely to have with the American Embassy is if you find yourself in some kind of trouble. This could be with regard to your health if you have a major medical issue – especially if it requires your immediate return to the US, or it crosses some form of bureaucratic minefield – or if you find yourself the victim of a crime. If some form of national emergency is declared during your vacation, the US Embassy staff will advise you on what to do.

With cheaper airline tickets being sold on line, it is much easier now on the pockets to travel and visit exotic places. One of these vacation spots that people go to is Maui. Known for its sandy beaches and great weather, Maui is one of the best places to be when you just want to unwind and have fun. But while it is now easy to procure travel tickets going to Maui, one problem that people now face is their residence. Now, the dilemma is how to find a vacation rental house in Maui at such a short notice.
Because a lot of people can now afford to travel, hotels and beach houses are bursting in the seams. Every place imaginable is fully-booked. This is especially true when it is peak season. And even if off peak, some places like Maui for example, remain fully-booked because many people travel during off peak months because of cheaper rates.

Himalaya Mountains

India is home to one of the most beautiful mountains in the world, the Himalaya Mountains, which boast the world’s highest and most famous mountain peak, Mt. Everest.
In a memorable verse of the ‘Kumarsambhava’, the famous Sanskrit poet Kalidasa compares the Himalaya to a gigantic measuring rod striding the earth between two oceans. The snow-capped peaks are indeed the most impressive feature. Himalaya, a Sankrit word, which means ‘ The Abode Of Snow’ and all other names used to describe this mountain range associate it with eternal snow – “Himvan”, “Himvat”, “Himachal” and “Himadri”.
