Garden Route Tour Attractions
Written by Khalied Hanslo on March 10, 2010 – 5:25 pm -The Garden Route is one of the most admired tourist attractions in South Africa. It is to be found in the South Western province of the country and is simply named the South Western District. It’s also dubbed the Garden Route because it is located in the ‘Garden’ of the country encircled by thick woods and native vegetation which is only found in this part of the world.
The two most popular towns being George and Knysna are a cornucopia of tourist attractions and phenomenal natural beauty. In recent years locals would say that some of that natural spirited beauty has been lost because of the influx of tourists but that is all very subjective. The area still manages to retain its splendor despite the increasing development.
The flight from Cape Town to George is under an hour and feels shorter. If you took the N2 arterial road it would take 5 to 6 hours. Taking twice as long as the road trip; a sea journey is possible however twice as beautiful.

Tremendous Cape Town Township Tours
Written by Khalied Hanslo on March 10, 2010 – 5:25 pm -South Africa is a place of enormous diversity and varied cultural experiences. One of these phenomenal experiences is to participate in a township tour. The majority of citizens live in the townships.
Cape Town is an unassuming centre relative to the rest of the country in terms of demographics but it also benefits from a number of the more spirited township lifestyle. In Cape Town, Khayelitsha is the chief township followed by Crossroads. Khayelitsha translated means our new home and is a union of the old Crossroads and KTC locations.
Today it is populated by over two million inhabitants and is recorded as the second largest informal settlement in South Africa. It is only eclipsed by the world famous Soweto where Nelson Mandela lived. Khayelitsha was officially established in 1985 but the apartheid regime had been forcefully moving people there since 1983.
There are many exciting things to see in township living. There are shebeens where visitors can go to enjoy locally or home-made beer and eat the local fare. Food mainly consists of the livestock that is farmed; such as goats, cows and chickens.

Dundee Angus: Discover The Jewel In The Crown
Written by Frederick Hoymer on March 10, 2010 – 5:18 pm -There is an historical part of the ancient County of Angus on Scotland’s east coast that is quintessentially Scottish. This craggy coastline and the vibrant City of Dundee, has been the jewel in the crown for the Nation of Scotland for eons of time.
The verdant hills and glens are a walkers paradise, as are the miles of golden sandy beaches peppering the North Sea coastline. The late and much loved Queen Mother was raised in her nearby ancestral castle of Glamis, and this whole area is replete with a splendid cultural heritage that is unique to the eastern seaboard as is evidenced by the many visitors that flock here from home and abroad.
Dundee has been aptly named the City of Discovery, and rightly so. As well as having a fine arts feel, it also boasts an excellent theatre and cosmopolitan cinema complex. The famous Dundee Rep and Contemporary Arts complex is a must visit incidentally.

Ludlow Shropshire: A Border Beauty
Written by Frederick Hoymer on March 10, 2010 – 5:16 pm -The beautiful county of Shropshire on the Welsh borders is a place of gentle hills and rivers and rich in history. There are more than 32 castles and stately mansions peppering the verdant countryside. It is home to a number of interesting museums too. The Iron bridge Gorge museum and RAF Cosford are just two of many fascinating attractions you can discover as is Ludlow.
Amongst the sites worth viewing are the Ironbridge Gorge and RAF Cosford museums, which are full of all kinds of artifacts from days of yore. Over one hundred years ago the well known author Charles Dickens would visit the county, especially focusing on the town of Shrewsbury which is the County town, and give readings of his wonderful and beloved of millions story A Christmas Carol.
A poet laureate said of the ancient town of Ludlow ‘this is the prettiest Town in all England’! Most visitors would agree. The great castle overlooking the town centre is in excellent repair and draws a multitude of tourists yearly to Ludlow. Although this is not a huge town by any stretch of the imagination, amazingly it is home to over five hundred historical listed buildings, the majority being in the Tudor part timbered design.

Costa Rica: Our Photography Tour Of Fiery Arenal Volcano
Written by Frank Scott on March 10, 2010 – 5:11 pm -
With luggage and camera gear packed in the van by 8 in the morning my new friends and I on my photography tour are off to our first destination, promising to be an outstanding adventure. The excitement is high with everyone getting to know each other and talking cameras and pictures on this their first day.
We are on our way to Arenal, an active volcano in Costa Rica, but there are a few stops along the way. First, we stop in Sarchi, famous for its tropical furniture, where magnificent, brightly decorated ox carts are made in an eighty plus year old water powered factory. From there, we drive to the little mountain town of Zarcero where the focal point is the old wooden church with its much-photographed double row of topiaries leading to its entrance. You can fill your camera’s memory card just at these two places with the colours and patterns in Sarchi and the fantastic shapes of the topiaries in Zarcero.

Holidays In English Coastal Resorts – Try Scarborough For Size
Written by Bertie Davis on March 10, 2010 – 4:57 pm -The British seaside has been welcoming visitors for hundreds of years and if you are keen on taking holidays in English Coastal resorts, why not try Scarborough for size. It is after all the very first holiday resort and has been receiving and sending away happy holiday makers for 360 years.
Family holidays by the seaside which cater for the entire family and sandy beaches are the main attraction here. Scarborough is on the east coast and situated in North Yorkshire. The medieval castle stands sentinel at the foot of the harbour and forms a stunning backdrop.
St. Mary’s is the parish church and has survived the test of time after being built in 1150. Changes and additions have taken place on this building through time, but it has survived many attacks and sieges in tact. Most notably it is also the final resting place of Bronte sister, Anne.
Scarborough houses the Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary which makes for a fishy fact-filled visit. This is something special for the entire family and a visit to Scarborough without a visit to the sanctuary wouldn’t be the same.

What Happens When You Travel?
Written by Olivia Morgan on March 10, 2010 – 4:40 pm -Some travelers love the idea of communicating what they do when they travel, especially to close friends and relatives. Before, the internet was a great tool in doing so for travelers can simply send one email after another to let people know about their situation. The problem here is that many things can happen during a trip and if a person insists on emailing others for each particular event then do not be surprised when inboxes start to get flooded by all these mail.
There are plenty of new ways to inform other people with regard to the different things that are occurring in our lives every single day. Some information are available publicly and then there are also some which are locked in private settings. Through this article a person will know more about travel blogs and how information can be exchanged through them.
Traveling generally is a rather adventurous thing to engage in and a travel blog can capture that adventure and allow the traveler to share it with others. It would be great if a traveler puts both pictures and word entries together as updates are made on his or her blog. It is possible that the blog page be secured with a private setting pertaining to the fact that only a selected group of people will be able to view whatever the traveler posts on the page.

Is Right Now The Best Time To Exchange Your Sterling For Euros?
Written by Stephen Smith on March 10, 2010 – 4:35 pm -History of the Euro
The euro is a fairly recent currency introduced in the year 2002, but the original concept of universal money has been in play since about the middle of the twentieth century. The euro, also denoted as EUR, is the currency used by the 12 members of the European Union (Germany, Austria, Greece, Spain, Ireland, France, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Portugal, Belgium, and Finland), as well as some other regions like Andorra, Kosovo, and Montenegro. Among the most important evolutions ever to occur in continental Europe, the Euro’s establishment was developed with the goal in mind of setting up a unified form of payment across Europe, since exchange between the countries is a daily occasion. Along with the establishment of the EUR came a common central bank and interest rate to be used among the 12 members of the union. Monetary policy in Europe is based in Frankfurt, Germany since this is the headquarters of the central bank and is where decisions are made.
