GE Ceramic Cooktops For Your Kitchen
Written by Julie Trident on March 12, 2010 – 1:26 pm -As with everything in life, a GE ceramic cooktop has both advantages and disadvantages. These types of cooktops are completely man-made. The coils are electric, and the manufactured clay makes the cooktop hard and resistant to hot
The major advantage of these cooktops is their energy efficiency. They come with flat surfaces which are different from non-flat surfaces of gas stoves and due to this reason heat is distributed more properly. The availability of the off and on switch is also an aid in energy efficiency of this cooktop.
Old fashioned stoves have to be cleaned by scratching and rubbing the grease formed on top but ceramic stovetops have eliminated this hassle. Flat surface brings the ease in cooking together with cleaning. These cooktops can be cleaned in minutes with just a wet cloth and hot water or spray.
The level surface of the stovetop also poses disadvantages with the overall quality of the stove. Immediately after the stove is turned off, it can be incredibly difficult to differentiate between which plate is still warm. This disadvantage has obvious dangers, and therefore much caution should be taken before touching any part of a stove surface.

Clothing Dryer Repairs: The Issues Of Clothing Dryer Repairs
Written by Marc Marseille on March 12, 2010 – 11:34 am -Which do you think is a bigger inconvenience, coping with a automobile repair or a clothes dryer repair? Believe it or not the majority of folks would rather deal with a automobile repair than to have wrestle with the bother of repairing a clothes dryer. Both of these are mandatory items in a home, but there are chief contrasts when it comes to the inconveniences that one will have to cope with.
Dealing with a car although added expensive, can be a heap smoother than dealing with an appliance repair such as a dryer. The fact is that the majority of vehicle owners have longer term promises that cover the payment of repairs. In retrospect, household appliance manufacturers such as sears, electrolux, maytag, whirlpool and KitchenAid often offer a one year warranty. What this means is, if something goes wrong, you are virtually on your own.
The greatest thing to do when buying a new washer or dryer is to acquire the extended guarantee that is offered. An extended warranty will help you with the issue, but frequently it is difficult to get the manufacturer to act in a method that is most convenient for your household. Unlike a car repair, you can not simply go to the rent a car company and rent a car for a week. Could you imagine the inconvenience to a large household if they had to delay a few weeks for a manufacture to assign a clothes dryer repair technician to come to their residence.

Add Color To Christmas Decorations And Life To Any Home
Written by Logan Pacelli on March 12, 2010 – 10:52 am -Christmas decoration fashions may change, but succeeding generations are continuing to utilize the traditional symbols and especially the favorite evergreen tree. Another Christmas green for this season is the holly with its glossy foliage and red fruits. Pyracanthas covered with scarlet berries are offered by a few florists. These two berry plants are indeed prized treasures. hut they are not suited to window garden culture. The florists’ Christmas offerings are beautiful and satisfying, yet there is also room for home grown berry plants. When we look around for unusual plants for our window gardening we may overlook some of the old favorites because they have not been called to our attention in the garden pages for some time.
House plants add color to Christmas decorations, and life to any home. Ardisia crispa and Rivina humilis are among the easily obtainable berry plants. In warm climates ardisia is grown as a shrub or tree, but it is a good subject for pot culture. It does not require special soil or care and its berries are the same size and color as those of holly. My largest plant is about ten years old and it is five feet tall above its seven-inch pot. It is constantly well decorated with numerous red fruits. It is a rather slow grower that does not require repotting often. The thick textured, way-edged leaves, four by 1 inches, make this plant attractive even before it begins to fruit.

An Introduction To Electrode- less Lamp
Written by Scott Rodgers on March 12, 2010 – 10:29 am -Electrode- less lamps or shortly known as E- lamps is now being recognized as a truly long life lamp with real world energy saving potentials higher than LED. It is 50% more efficient than CFL, and cuts energy usage of traditional lamps like mercury vapor and high pressure sodium by half or more.
This modern technology is gaining popularity over other inefficient materials and lighting techniques due to its following properties. These have extremely long life and are highly efficient in energy saving. More advantageously, these do not produce any glare or light pollution and is simply a green light source.
Readers might be thinking, what does this E- lamp signifies. Well, let me tell you. These lamps eliminate the need for electrodes and are totally based on magnetic induction. For this reason they are also named as induction lamps. With such lights, no electrical connections through the lamp are needed. Rather, in induction lamps, light is transferred from outside the lamp through magnetic field.
In fluorescent lights electrodes are generally used to illuminate the lights. On the other hand, no electrodes are used in induction lighting. As the name suggests, these are operated through magnetic induction. Well, this is the major reason for longer lifespan of the electrode- less lamps.

What Automatic Transfer Switches Do?
Written by Rudy Silva on March 12, 2010 – 8:20 am -An automatic transfer switch transfers the power source from secondary or tertiary power source. It is used most often in power distribution systems. Transfer switches are common in areas where there are emergency power generators to back up power from the utility source.
Many electrical and electronic engineers, as well as electricians like to work on auto transfer switches more than they do on manual switches. The auto switches have the initiative to transfer loads of electricity when there are power interruptions, or when there is a need to transfer the power source from one electrical system to another.
In cases such as voltage alterations in power supplies, a transfer switch prevents potential damage to internal circuits of appliances. An automatic transfer switch transfers the power from the main source to a backup generator. It does not transfer back to the main power supply unless it has showed stability of its voltage power.
A Generator automatic transfer switch is the other name for auto transfer switch. It comes with an extra electronics, like a computer, that monitors the activity of incoming power. Also, it checks the whole circuit for voltage sags, brownouts, power spikes and power surges.

A Hit Among Landscaping Shrubs
Written by Keith Markensen on March 12, 2010 – 6:56 am -The landscaper must decide whether deciduous plants (those that drop their leaves) or evergreens should be used in the foundation planting. Your taste and your climate will be the key factors. But remember that a mixture of the two is rarely, if ever, desirable – although an evergreen ground cover can well be used with whichever type of plant you decide on. Indeed, such a ground cover might be even more useful and effective around deciduous material than around evergreens. It will keep the planting from looking sparse and bare after the shrubs go dormant and drop their leaves.
Seasonal Changes
Deciduous plants grow much faster and larger than most evergreens so you need to know more about plant habits generally to use them properly. As to which type offers the greater interest throughout the year, it may surprise you to learn that the deciduous plants lead. In many parts of the country such plants go through four seasonal phases in each of which they take on different characteristics.
