An Objective Rant Regarding Fantasy Sports
Written by Jack Mandel on March 12, 2010 – 5:43 am -For a few years now I’ve achieved a lot of enjoyment playing my fantasy teams in virtual sports leagues. At the moment I have 3 teams; basketball, football and baseball. There are a lot of other games involving sport that are more basic.
I find this an awful lot of fun and it’s the nearest I’ll ever get to managing a sports team! I love buying and selling players, choosing the teams just pretending to be the manager for a few hours.
A word of warning though, this is very addictive. I’m constantly checking results and stats and seeing how the competition is doing. I find I’m doing this on a daily basis at least, and pressing refresh an awful lot!
Are the addictive qualities of these games bad for you? Well I personally don’t think s, but then I wouldn’t, would I? It does take up a huge amount of my time and If there are no new stats I find myself watching games I have no interest in, and checking other results to see of my team is affected.

South Florida Upends #21 West Virginia
Written by Ross Everett on March 8, 2010 – 6:08 am -Redshirt freshman quarterback B.J. Daniels threw for three touchdowns and the South Florida Bulls used a tenacious defensive effort to upset visiting West Virginia 30-19 on Friday night. Daniels threw for 232 yards and rushed for 104, compiling more yardage individually than West Virginia amassed as a team. Both teams are now 6-2 on the season.
College football betting aficionados who took the Bulls as +3 home underdogs cashed their tickets with the outright victory. Despite their 6-2 record, West Virginia dropped to 2-5 against the spread in their lined games this season while South Florida evened their college football pointspread record at 3-3 in their lined contests.
Daniels had this rebuke for his team’s doubters after the victory:
“I guess a lot of people doubted us and thought we were going to go down the same patch we did the last two years. That was a lot of garbage that our team didn’t listen to.”
The Bulls’ defense limited West Virginia running back Noel Devine to just 42 yards-well under his-0 per game average. South Florida coach Jim Leavitt talked about his team’s priority of stopping Devine:

To get a good idea of how large the gambling story is, try going back a couple of thousand years. Smart Players Know What To Look For In A Casino Review
Written by Simon M Skinner on March 4, 2010 – 8:53 pm -It’s long been said that everyone has an opinion about something. One of the Internet’s downsides comes in the ease with which people can publish their opinions, whether they have any genuine value or not. This reality makes it important that anyone using reviews to determine where to go for gambling should learn what to look for in a casino review.
For starters, check to see if the review is written by someone who’s an experienced writer or critic. Customers recommendations can be helpful, but someone with experience at evaluating professional operations knows what to look for and how to find it. Seasoned reviewers also know how to go behind the scenes to find out the background of the casino’s ownership and operations, so that readers get a more complete picture of how things are run.
Once the reviewer’s qualifications are determined, begin looking at the specifics of the review. What exactly is the writer saying? Is he or she merely endorsing the casino as a great place to have fun, or is the writer giving readers specific details about what they most likely will experience?

Looking At The Key Tennis Strengths
Written by Ian Ellis on February 28, 2010 – 11:59 am -As tennis continues to grow its fans and players will always be arguing on what determines a good player and which skills are the most important to have.
It can be fun considering the different perspectives and opinions of the many arguments that evolve from the different aspects of the game.
Here are the most important factors. Let’s see which one you think matters most.
What about volleying? A game that it going too smoothly can become a disadvantage for opponents as point may easily be lost. Just take a look back at players of the past such as John McEnroe.
Is baseline play across the net favoured by modern games? A Lot of tennis experts would argue in favour. Andy Roddick would spend time playing the game from the net but he now prefers the baseline play. And take the example of Rafael Nadal who also takes control from the rear of the court.
Any player with a powerful serve can easily take control of the court if their opponent is unable to break them and this will give them an overall advantage. Take Roddick as a good example of a big serve.

Green Bay Beats Struggling Cleveland
Written by Ross Everett on February 28, 2010 – 5:41 am -The Green Bay Packers used 21 second quarter points and three Aaron Rodgers touchdown passes to easily dispatch the punchless Cleveland Browns 31-3 on Sunday. Rodgers threw two of his three touchdowns during the second quarter onslaught, adding a fourth quarter tally for good measure. Ryan Grant added–8 yards of rushing and a touchdown in the victory, in which the Packers dominated the statistical battle. Green Bay improved their 2009 NFL record to 4-2, while Cleveland slumped to 1-6.
NFL football betting enthusiasts who laid the -8′ with Green Bay as road favorites cashed their tickets with the lopsided victory. Green Bay improved to 4-2 against the NFL pointspread while the Browns dropped to 3-4 against the number. The 34 points scored went UNDER the posted total of 41′. Cleveland has gone UNDER in four of seven this season, while Green Bay evened their NFL totals record at 3-3.
The Packers upped their intensity early in the game, after quarterback Aaron Rodgers was punched in the face during a scrum. He recounts what happened next:
“One of the linemen came over and said, ‘Who was it? We got your back. That means a lot to me and that means a lot to our team.”

Which Film Will Take Home The Greatest Film Oscar?
Written by Lauren Gordon on February 26, 2010 – 1:00 pm -March 7th 2010, the time that all those film fanatics will be waiting for. The Academy Awards will see that Hollywood is working nonstop for the next month.
The most famed award, the most prestigious is the Oscar, and who will achieve it this year? There are many awards ceremonies throughout the year but this one is the most noteworthy of them all and it is this one that I shall be commenting on.
So who will win the best picture award for this year? This is the most sought after award amongst nominees and will inevitably be handed to the one that everyone remembers the most from that year. Winning an award such as that will see that the director will have the chance to create another great piece of work if not better.
The best picture race is going to be an interesting one this year. As ten movies have been nominated, there are quite a few that could conceivably win the award.
While it may be unlikely that a Disney movie wins, Up was an instant classic that both critics and moviegoers absolutely loved.

The norm is usually that it can be a lot of seasons down the road until a rookie will do really well, with a bumpy start and many things to learn about this league along the way.
This season, we’ve been fortunate enough to enjoy the presence of some exceptional rookies who have the poise and demeanor of veteran players. This bodes really well for their long term potential.
Let’s take a look at a few of the top NBA candidates for rookie of the year this season. Here are a few of the most likely possibilities.
If you asked anyone a month or two ago, Brandon Jennings might have been the consensus answer. He came out with a bang this year, highlighting his impact with an incredible 55 point performance in November.
The down side is that because Jennings has only been doing about 30% over this last month, he is not in the running at the present time.

Building Ohio Casinos: The Pros And Cons
Written by Brad D Adamson on February 22, 2010 – 9:28 am -Building Ohio casinos has been a hot topic of late in the state, which is experiencing record numbers of unemployment and foreclosures due to the recession currently taking place in the United States. A strong financial motivation to establish a casino industry in Ohio is that its residents spend millions of dollars at gambling venues in the surrounding states of Michigan, West Virginia, Indiana, and Pennsylvania.
The issue of building casinos in Ohio has been a bitter struggle in the state for decades. Voters have repeatedly rejected the measure over the years, though they just narrowly voted in favor of it in the November 2009 elections. 53% of Ohio residents but only 29 out of 88 counties in the state voted to build casinos in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, and Toledo. This leads to the reasons commonly given for and against the construction of casinos in Ohio.
