Are Wide Barbell Curls Effective For Losing Arm Fat?
Written by Katherine Crawford, M.S. on March 13, 2010 – 12:48 pm -Are you having a hard time choosing the right exercises for losing that loose arm fat? Is all the advice out there confusing you? Well, I suspect that most women are utterly paralyzed by all the information overload.
Maybe you are confused with all the information.
Now don’t start panicking because I’ve been there and done that and I’m ready to share what I’ve learned because I don’t want you wasting any time!
Thus, here is my analysis of wide grip barbell curls for toned arms:
1. Snap shot: This is a great exercise for toning the inside part of the biceps. It can cause a little wrist strain so be careful here. And remember that the biceps muscle is the first part of your arm someone will see when greeting you from the front.
2. Technique: Find a barbell and grasp it with a wide grip. Maintain an erect posture and keep your abs very tight. Slowly raise the bar until it comes close to shoulder height. Then lower it and repeat until you reach exhaustion.

Warning: Going High Carb Can Increase Arm Fat
Written by Katherine Crawford, M.S. on March 13, 2010 – 12:45 pm -Picking the right diet for losing arm flab can be extremely frustrating because there is so much marketing hype that the truth has become hidden amongst all the lies.
Are you having a hard time picking the right diet?
If so, you’re not alone. I suspect that most women are utterly lost when it comes to solid nutrition for arm flab loss, I know I was.
So here are 4 reasons why you shouldn’t go on a high carb diet for arm flab loss:
1. Excess sugar intakes. This can be a very serious issue is you have a sugar addiction. After all, once you start having even a small amount of sugar it will be very hard to stop. Don’t forget that sugar triggers the same receptors as drugs.
2. Can increase insulin resistance. The research has shown time and again that those with insulin resistance do far better with lower carb diets. So if you’re insulin resistant, high carb dieting is not for you.
3. Oscillating levels of hunger. If you eat a large amount of carbs you run the risk of taking your blood sugar for a roller coaster ride because carbohydrates have the biggest impact on blood sugar levels. The best way to counteract this is with an enormous vegetable intake.

How Muscle Confusion Theory Works
Written by Vance Waller on March 13, 2010 – 9:42 am -Every day, more and more theories and programs jump onto the market, aiming at convincing people that they work to help them lose weight and become fit. While some of them may have some worth, others are basically worthless! What is important in choosing a theory to roll with is whether or not it makes logical sense and whether or not people have reported getting good results from it.
One concept on the market is muscle confusion theory, which has become increasingly popular since it was introduced. With muscle confusion theory, there are basically changing variables in your workout so your muscles do not become too accustomed to the training program. It is a proven fact that once your muscles become accustomed to the routine, they simply stop responding and after a while you no longer see any results in terms of tone or strength of muscles. With muscle confusion theory, the extensive variation of moves basically challenges the muscles into new growth. If you think about it, you would realize that it actually makes logical sense, thereby proving itself is worthwhile.

The Massage Chairs At The Consumer Electronics Show Are Excellent
Written by Valerie Woodward on March 13, 2010 – 9:30 am -Every year Las Vegas is host to the largest consumer electronics tradeshow on the planet. The Consumer Electronics Show or CES consists of manufacturers of every category of electronics. My interest was to see the very best in massage chairs. Although there were many massage chair vendors, I was interested in the manufacturers of the top products and present what I found.
There was a Japanese manufacturer of massage chairs called Family Inada. This company won the 2010 CES innovation award for their product the Dream Wave Sogno. The Dream Wave Sogno is a very advanced massage recliner with a pretty far out design.
One of the features of the Sogno is its air compression massage system. This massage chair has airbags for the neck, arms, hands and most other parts of the body. The air massage around the neck area is very soothing and relieving. This is perhaps the best air compression design for the neck area on the market today. The arm airbags were less impressive as I did not really receive much effectiveness.

How To Make Your Diet More Effective
Written by Katherine Crawford, M.S. on March 13, 2010 – 7:48 am -The information highways are flooded with information on how to lose fat. Unfortunately, a lot of this information will not get you the body you want.
Even worse, how are you supposed to separate the wheat from the chaff without an advanced degree in fat loss dieting?
Thus, here are 5 tips for taking your diet to the next level:
1. Read labels: Don’t rely on the packaging alone because there are loopholes which allow companies to make misleading claims. Instead, always read the nutrition facts to see exactly what is going into your body. Here are some terms you want to avoid: enriched, bleached or refined flour, partially hydrogenated and corn syrup.
2. Optimize your fat ratios: Having too much saturated fat in your diet can cause insulin resistance-a state in which more calories go to fat cells. Even worse, over time, saturated fat can age your arteries. Thus, it behooves you to increase intake of unsaturated fats while decreasing intake of saturated fats.
3. Drink water when you are ravenous: The drive to eat and drink can be blurred by the biological mechanisms in your hunger center. So when you feel extra hungry make sure you drink an ample amount of water before you begin to eat. Doing so will make sure you aren’t eating food when your body really wants water.

Water Is A Perfect Thirst Quencher
Written by George Napoli on March 12, 2010 – 2:01 pm -“Quench thirst with H2O.” That’s what Time-Out Chicago Magazine surveys in their July 23-29 issue. They claim that “71% of you said H2O is your favorite summer time thirst beverage.” When it comes to the best thirst quencher, H2O is the absolutely best choice.
To satisfy your thirst, there is no alternative to water. But just like the 2nd piece of cake isn’t as good as the 1st, neither is the second glass of H2O. After some time, drinking right levels of H2O is easier said than done. Drinking the right levels of H2O is important to both quench your thirst and keeping you properly hydrated.
Trouble is, water gets boring and sometimes you have no desire for plain water and typically reach for high caloric beverages like juices and soda. Other times you may reach for coffee and tea that actually dehydrate you. Even though they both are made with water, coffee and tea provides us with no hydration benefits.
There has been no real options for these high calorie drinks nor are there effective products that really help promote hydration. Mixing your own flavored waters is 1 possible option. Using fresh fruits and natural fruit concentrates in tap water is 1 certainly a way to avoid drinks with calories while making water taste good.
