St. Mary’s is the parish church and has survived the test of time after being built in 1150. Changes and additions have taken place on this building through time, but it has survived many attacks and sieges in tact. Most notably it is also the final resting place of Bronte sister, Anne.

I Saw The Queen From My Cheap Hotel Room
Written by David Anderson on March 8, 2010 – 12:04 pm -London is one of the most fashionable city break locations on the planet and each year hundreds of thousands of tourists visit UK’s capital city. The city of London has hundreds of years of history and culture, stunning historical buildings and of course lots of entertaining attractions, even the queen lives there.
One of the hardest things to discover in London is a good quality hotel at a low-cost price. If you want to be in the center of all the action then you would usually have to pay a lot more for than you would if you were staying five miles away. The secret is to try and find a hotel that strikes the right balance between the price and location.
There are umpteen high-priced four and 5 star properties all over the center of London that could cost you a fortune unless you check around and take a a couple of easy measures.
First thing to do is to make sure that your visit does not take place in the middle of any large events in London as the low cost hotels will in all likelihood be reserved for these dates well in advance. So avoid any dates where there is a cup final on at wembley stadium or any other big event. A quick look on the official London council inter net site will give you a list of yearly events.

Discover The Appeal Of Beach Holidays In Italy
Written by Craig Walker on March 2, 2010 – 2:54 pm -Holidays in Italy have been popular through the ages, though it is surprising to learn that few of these are taken in the beach resorts. Indeed, it is somewhat of a hidden paradise for Italians themselves, as many visitors content themselves with visiting the cities.
A beach resort which has been popular for sometime however is on the island of Sardinia. Quite possibly the best beaches within the whole of Europe are here, and with the Mediterranean gently lapping its shores alongside the wonderful resorts that line the coast, it is still relatively quiet.
Tuscany is one of the most popular destinations throughout the country, but a move away from the beautiful countryside and hills delivers some breathtaking beaches. A worthy mention would have to be Monte Argentario.
A wonderful part of the country, there are a selection of simply divine private villas readily available for hire. This is often the best policy too, as though the waters of the sea are welcoming, having access to a private pool is always a bonus. Similar accommodation is available throughout Gallipoli and Syracuse in the always popular Sicily.

The Ancient Roots of Barry, South Wales: Part 1.
Written by Owen Jones on March 2, 2010 – 11:12 am -The majority of what we have come to know about Barry and the Vale of Glamorgan in which it is to be found, has been gathered from the observation of old properties in the area. However, many of these are in a very bad state and have been for a very long time. There are also legendary tales like the one about Joseph of Arimathea, who traded tin across the channel in Glastonbury and was one of the first missionaries to the country.
Tradition maintains that the father of Caractacus took his son to Rome and was converted to Christianity. They returned to the Vale of Glamorgan with the missionary Bran the Blessed. We do know that Christianity had become fairly popular by the early 4th. Century and that south Wales sent some bishops to the Council of Rome.
Saint Baruch’s Church on Barry Island is one of the oldest places of historic religious interest in the region, but unfortunately, it too has been allowed to become dilapidated. Barry Island was one of the most important places of monastic interest in south Wales and around. The ancient Viking strongholds of Steep and Flat Holms also housed monks and Saint Illtyd’s Seminary in nearby Llantwit Major, which taught 2,200 disciples, was closely linked to it too.
