Dominating in Season 5 PvP

Written by Kevin Carr on March 13, 2010 – 1:21 pm -

Season 5 of the Arena has been dubbed all sorts of things already but more than anything else, it is an obvious testing ground for PvP situations that cannot be hashed out very well in testing by Blizzard. For this reason, there are a number of constant and steady changes that are going through the game to help balance out classes and set up a more steady and confined competition.

Things to Expect

Resilience has been turned down a lot and you’ll have a hard time getting enough resilience with your gear to have an effect on your performance. Typically, you’ll need about 1200 Resilience when you’re at level 80 if you want to be effective. The Season 5 gear cap, however, is around 900. Season 5 is more oriented towards doing damage and bursting than any of the seasons before it.

Season 5 gear also has three different tiers. You’ll start to get your PvP gear when you run instances and getting Emblems of Heroism. You can use these, along with your honor points, to purchase pieces of gear that don’t require only Arena points. Blizzard has lowered the cap for high end PvP gear to 2050, so more people have access to it before they hit 2100 in the arena.

Home Air Conditioning

Written by Owen Jones on March 13, 2010 – 1:03 pm -

If you live in a hot country, or even one that merely has hot summers, it is just lovely to be able to sit in your home without sweltering. Especially at night as being too hot can stop you from getting a good night’s rest. Likewise, when you are at work. We all know the pleasure of walking into a cool, air conditioned building, like a bank on a hot summer’s day.

Total air conditioning like this used to be the privilege of office blocks and the very wealthy, but it is becoming more general now. In fact, if you already have ducting throughout your residence to be used in association with a central heating system, a total air conditioning system might cost as little as $4,000.

I know that $4,000 is not an insignificant amount, but if you do not have the ducting already, you can add another $3,000 to $4,000. These figures relate to a typical three or four bedroomed house or apartment.

The Massage Chairs At The Consumer Electronics Show Are Excellent

Written by Valerie Woodward on March 13, 2010 – 9:30 am -

Every year Las Vegas is host to the largest consumer electronics tradeshow on the planet. The Consumer Electronics Show or CES consists of manufacturers of every category of electronics. My interest was to see the very best in massage chairs. Although there were many massage chair vendors, I was interested in the manufacturers of the top products and present what I found.

There was a Japanese manufacturer of massage chairs called Family Inada. This company won the 2010 CES innovation award for their product the Dream Wave Sogno. The Dream Wave Sogno is a very advanced massage recliner with a pretty far out design.

One of the features of the Sogno is its air compression massage system. This massage chair has airbags for the neck, arms, hands and most other parts of the body. The air massage around the neck area is very soothing and relieving. This is perhaps the best air compression design for the neck area on the market today. The arm airbags were less impressive as I did not really receive much effectiveness.

Choosing Speakers For Your Surround Sound System

Written by Kevin Bell on March 13, 2010 – 7:09 am -

Surround sound systems can really make a huge different in your home theater. Your sound system is made up of several different components, but the speakers are the most important piece of the pie since they’re the ones responsible for delivering the sound to your ears. This is why it’s a must, to have quality speakers if you’re looking to set-up a high-end surround sound system in your home. This guide will share the different types of speakers available for your home theater.

There are three audio set-ups that are most commonly found in home theaters. The first is the 5.1 surround sound which consists of 5 speakers and a subwoofer. The speakers are placed on the left front, right front, right rear and left rear. There’s also a center speaker as well as the subwoofer. The next option is the 7.1 surround sound system. This is made up of 7 speakers and a subwoofer. This is the same as 5.1, but two side speakers are added into this set up. For the people that love bass, there’s the 5.2 or 7.2 which is the same as the options above, but with 2 subwoofers.

GE Ceramic Cooktops For Your Kitchen

Written by Julie Trident on March 12, 2010 – 1:26 pm -

As with everything in life, a GE ceramic cooktop has both advantages and disadvantages. These types of cooktops are completely man-made. The coils are electric, and the manufactured clay makes the cooktop hard and resistant to hot

The major advantage of these cooktops is their energy efficiency. They come with flat surfaces which are different from non-flat surfaces of gas stoves and due to this reason heat is distributed more properly. The availability of the off and on switch is also an aid in energy efficiency of this cooktop.

Old fashioned stoves have to be cleaned by scratching and rubbing the grease formed on top but ceramic stovetops have eliminated this hassle. Flat surface brings the ease in cooking together with cleaning. These cooktops can be cleaned in minutes with just a wet cloth and hot water or spray.

The level surface of the stovetop also poses disadvantages with the overall quality of the stove. Immediately after the stove is turned off, it can be incredibly difficult to differentiate between which plate is still warm. This disadvantage has obvious dangers, and therefore much caution should be taken before touching any part of a stove surface.

Points To Consider When Choosing An E-Book Reader

Written by Abraham Killingholme on March 12, 2010 – 1:08 pm -

The Amazon Kindle e-book reader has been a hugely successful product for Amazon. It was first released in November of 2007 – but it was the launch of the Kindle 2, in February 2009, which saw e-book readers really take off. Amazon followed up with the large display Kindle DX model in June of 2009 and the e-book reader market started to grow exponentially.

The Kindle rapidly became Amazon’s number 1 selling product. Over the Christmas period of 2009 it became Amazon’s “most gifted” product ever. As a result of the growth in the e-book reader market, many other manufacturers launched or updated e-book readers of their own. The higher level of competition produced a downward trend in prices and gave potential buyers additional options – both of these are good things of course.

With increased choice available, potential e-book reader customers need comparisons of the different options on offer. It’s possible to find many reviews on the internet which compare the Kindle with Sony’s Daily Edition reader, Barnes and Noble’s Nook reader with the iPad etc. However, comparing e-book readers in terms of the hardware alone would be missing the point of the whole e-book reader experience. In general, as with any piece of personal electronic equipment, the most recently released model will probably have a few bells and whistles which are lacking in the older models. Factors such as usability, legibility of the display, the number of books available, the price of books, the ease of purchasing books etc. all need to be taken into account.

Apple Best Keyboards And Mouse Replacements

Written by Joe Wilson on March 12, 2010 – 10:51 am -

Relatively inexpensive Apple keyboards and mouse replacements are not hard to come by today. Small PC stores as well as big chains like Best Buy carry them. In spite of Apple’s carrying fine products, their keyboards and mice do not suit everyone’s needs. To this end, many solid alternatives exist.

Logitech’s diNovo Edge Keyboard is one of the best Apple compatible keyboards on the market today. At a price of $180, it works well with Apple’s products and enables you to use iTunes, Safari, etc. The keyboard’s signature Touch Disk feature is a circular trackpad which is touch sensitive. Located on the left side of the keyboard, the person using the computer can easily scroll around the screen of his or her computer by using the Touch Disk. A sliding volume control is another great feature of the diNovo Edge, and the keyboard is compatible with Bluetooth within a 30 ft. Proximity. The Bluetooth compatibility translates into the keyboard’s not requiring a USB connection, a very desirable quality.
