If your PC constantly displays the blue screen of death or if your computer randomly freezes, it is telling you that something is wrong with it. But what’s wrong with it? That’s what you need to find out.

There are dozens of things that can cause your computer to crash – from simple causes like malware to more serious problems like hard drive failure. Now, the first thing you want to do to find solution to your PC’s problem is to find the thing that caused it.

Does it freeze or is it something else? Before you try to fix a problem, you must be sure that a problem really exists. If you think your PC has crashed, check by pressing the Num Lock button. If it is showing some sign of activity, your computer is not frozen.

In that case you can run the CTRL + ALT + DEL command which will direct you to the Task Manager window. Using the Task Manager, you can terminate all operations that are still running and turn off your computer. If it really crashed down, manually shut down your computer by unplugging it from the electric outlet or by pressing the ‘on’ button on the CPU.
