How To Send Money To China
Written by Michelle Marsh on June 5, 2010 – 1:33 pm -If you are planning a trip to China, the issue of cash has possibly come up. You should not only find out about the local currency, but also what type of funds you should bring. Before you make a money transfer to China through any pathway, consider the possibilities so that you always have a form of payment that you can easily use in this area.
China’s currency is the renminbi, often called the yuan, and $1 USD is equal to approximately 6.8 yuan. American dollars are not taken here, but Hong Dong dollars sometimes are in the southern area of the nation. You can bring U.S. dollars to exchange into yuan, but you should keep your receipts when you do exchange money, since around half can be converted back into American dollars when you leave. Cash is acceptable everywhere, of course, and is the most common form of payment in this country. This is particularly true for minor purchases, so do not be afraid to go the simple route and just bring cash.

Investors See New Opportunities In China
Written by Dwayne Stoltzfus on June 1, 2010 – 10:46 am -In 2008 a significant historical event took place online that seemed to miss the attention of most mainstream new outlet thus staying out of the site of the majority of even those who would consider themselves Internet savvy. The event was that for the first time since the inception of the World Wide Web a country other than the United States had the largest number of “Netizens”. A Netizen is a person who has access to the Internet and uses it on a fairly regular basis.
In 2008 China surpassed the United States with more online users or Netizens. To the average Internet user this may not seem like that big of an event but the implications of this shift will be enormous. The ethos of the Internet has always dominated by western culture and even though this may be so imbedded that it may not change, to think major changes are not coming would be naive.

Overview Of The Xi’an Great Mosque And Surrounding Muslim Quarter
Written by Mei Liu on May 19, 2010 – 12:01 pm -The Xian Great Mosque is located in the Muslim Quarter which is one of the most historic areas of the city of Xian. Within this quarter, visitors will find that the majority of the inhabitants are Hui (Chinese Muslims) many of whom stay inside the area choosing to be born, live and die without seeing any other section of the city.
The Muslim Quarter has a very important and colorful history. It is estimated that Muslims started settling in this area around 732 A. D, which was when the Xian Great Mosque was being built. Imperial Records confirm the existence of this distinct area from this time in the city’s history. The quarter began to grow in population after Xian established trade links with other Central Asian tribes, which allowed travelers and traders to visit the city, including the Muslim quarter, by traveling down what is known as the Silk Road.
The Xian Great Mosque became established with many more Chinese Muslims joining the community as foreigners, choosing to settle in the area with people who shared their same religion and beliefs. Indeed, it is possible that many of the descendants that live there today have Middle Eastern origins from those traders who traveled to Xian down the Silk Road.

A Barrier-Free Olympics
Written by Craven Publishing on April 5, 2010 – 8:30 am -[I:http://sacredcowtipping.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/MarkAntonyGlasgow5.jpg]
As China gears up to welcome the world to the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Welsh ex-pat Christian Saunders – who now lives in Beijing – gives us the lowdown on this vibrant and bustling city.
Some half a million foreign visitors are expected to descend upon China’s vibrant capital city between 8 and 24 August to witness the 2008 Olympic Games. But since China is still classified as a developing country, there has been some concern about the standard of facilities on offer in Beijing – not least for the many disabled people who will travel to the city to participate in and support the following Paralympic Games, which take place from 6 to 17 September.
To its credit, the Chinese government has addressed the issue with aplomb, ploughing vast resources into making much-needed improvements in many areas. By the time the games kick off, it’s anticipated that every major pavement in the city will boast not only a central raised path for blind people, but also ramps to enable wheelchair users to move around freely. More than 2,000 such ramps have already been installed.

Tips on Sending Money to China Quickly and Efficiently
Written by Linda Wang on March 14, 2010 – 9:26 am -If you have ever tried to send money to China, have you ever stopped to wonder whether your money would arrive in U.S. dollars or in Chinese Yuan? Most people never do.
Remember that even though you might send dollars|, the recipient will receive the money in Yuan. Some transfer services offer to convert to the correct currency for you, but it comes at a price.
Most often, the exchange rate is determined by the business itself, so it is challenging to find a fair rate. You may use a bank wire transfer service, but other issues will surely arise.
To wire funds to China through a financial institution, it is imperative both parties have an account with that bank. This makes it easier for the government to track money and ensure no illegal activity is going on.
If the banks are easily accessible, then there’s no problem. But if recipient is on vacation, does not have an account, or lives a distance from that particular bank; then the money transfer will be more difficult than planned.
