Business Habits: The Secret To Avoiding Business Failure

Written by Bhavesh Naik on May 29, 2010 – 12:02 pm -

If you have been in business for some time, you’ve already heard the statistic: the vast majority – 90 to 95% – of the business startups fail in the first five years. Only about 10% make it. But what you probably didn’t know is that of those who do make it, only a very small portion actually end up building the business they set out to build. The rest remain mediocre.

What’s the cause of such high failure? I think it’s because the business habits of our business have not been properly examined and developed. Business habits is the reason why learning the business-building skills intellectually – by reading books, going to a business school or engaging in intellectual debates, for example – do not make us successful in business.

Business Building is a sport. You can’t learn how to play tennis or golf by reading a book, writing a thesis or graduating with Honors after two years of intense studies. The theoretical knowledge is a good start, but to truly master the sport, we need to engage with it emotionally, enjoy it, practice it often, and master it in small incremental steps.

Quick Start Biz Ideas

Written by Michelle Merrick on May 12, 2010 – 1:26 pm -

According to online guru’s starting a successful online business is all about finding an under serviced niche in an area you have an interest in. You list your interests, use one or more of the free website that have been set up to show you how often people search in that area (keyword search site) and then try to find a sub niche with very little competition. If there are enough people performing searches in your sub niche then you can go ahead and set up your website.

Unfortunately, establishing a successful online business requires more than simply choosing a product or service you have an interest in. It is imperative that you choose a business that has a greater chance to succeed than the majority of new online businesses do. To do this you need to make sure you choose a business that meets the following criteria.

Forget about searching for something that’s never been done before. Most people approach the idea of going into business with the belief that in order to be successful they have to set up a totally unique business. Offer a new product or a totally different service. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Keeping An Open Mind Can Help A Person Find Inspirational Success

Written by Real and Sherri LeBeuf on April 9, 2010 – 8:23 am -

The basis of finding inspirational success seems to be understanding change. For those people that are content with doing the same things in life there is little scope that they will be inspired by too much because they will be too happy cocooned in their safe and secure way of living. This shows that inspiration to succeed only comes to those people that are willing to seek newer thoughts and newer experiences that will provide the grist from which inspiration is made.

Inspirational success is also about going to new locations and meeting with new kind of people ‘ both of which helps to provide an inspirational spark that can propel you towards achieving more success. Of course, what inspires one person can leave another person totally unmoved which shows that it is an individualized experience that affects people differently.

Even so, some things in life will definitely inspire almost everyone and these things include creations of God and of nature and then there is creative expression -both written and as art form. In addition, when people listen to certain kinds of sounds or music they will be inspired and the same is the case when they come across innovations and even brain sciences. Furthermore, a true life story and also an underdog story can help to inspire most people and the same is the case when you hear about how someone has overcome certain trauma and also other misfortunes.

How to Get Free Publicity with a Fact Sheet

Written by Danek S. Kaus on March 13, 2010 – 1:20 pm -

If you want to get free publicity, you need to send a press release to the media. But a press release is basically your calling card to the media. It is a sales pitch that contains the hook of the story and some basic facts. It covers the broad strokes, not the details. So if you really want to increase the probability that your press release will be read, you may want to add in a fact sheet as a separate item.

You might want to include a photo, a list of suggested questions, a list of media that have already done a story on you or your company and a fact sheet.

One of the key tools that publicists and media-savvy entrepreneurs use is the fact sheet. Fact sheets are easy to create, all you have to do is write down a list of facts that pertain to your press release.

Let’s say that your are a real estate broker or agent. You might want to create a list that contains such items as the following:

Median price of a home in your area

Media price a year ago, six months ago

What if You Did Not Hold Back

Written by Dr. Michael J. Duckett on March 6, 2010 – 4:08 pm -

In just a moment, I will be telling you a secret about yourself. First, let me explain what I am going to share. I want to offer you a proper explanation because this article may be a turning point for your life. It does not matter where you are at or who you are.

Picture a professional athlete wanting to win the game, but is only willing to play with 50% of his capability. Imagine a mother willing to take care of her baby only 50% of the time. Will they be successful? Will anyone be successful if they put only 50% effort toward reaching their goals? Of course not.

Most people know it takes 100% participation in anything to win but still only play their individual game of life 40% to 60% of their true potential. How much are you in the game? If you were to look at any area of your life, that you would like to improve, you’ll find you probably are far from giving it 100%. That’s why you’re not getting your desired results.

People come to me and tell me they want more love, health, money, etc. The explanation I offer them is they are not putting forth a full effort to make it happen.

Pointers For Achieving Inspirational Success

Written by Sherri LeBeuf on March 3, 2010 – 7:17 am -

No matter what your specific goal, almost everyone in the world would agree that they want Inspirational Success in some area or another. Whether you are looking for a new job, trying to lose weight, or trying to get your poetry published, there is almost certainly a reason you want to be inspired to succeed. Here are some ways you can help yourself stay on the right path to Inspirational Success.

Take Time to Set Goals.

If your desire for success is simply a vague idea in your mind, it can be very hard to put it into practice. However, if it is broken down into attainable goals, it becomes much easier. Goals provide you with specific things to focus on, as well as tangible ways to measure your success. If you are searching for success in a job search, for instance, set a goal of applying to a certain number of jobs each day. If you are trying to lose weight, decide the number of pounds or inches you want to lose in a given time period. If you are a writer, set a goal for the number of words you want to get on paper each day. When your success becomes measurable, it is easier to get started and easier to praise yourself when you have achieved your goals.

Results Are What Matter

Written by Dr. Michael J. Duckett Duckett on February 28, 2010 – 3:15 pm -

It is not that many people set a very high goal and fail; it is more often that people set their goals too low and succeed. I am sure you have heard this before, however it may be the first time you have actually “felt” what I am saying.

Contrary to popular belief, each of us is capable of choosing what level of life we are presently playing at. What amazes me is how many people make the choice to play a small game when they really want something bigger.

Here is the confusing part. People believe that in order to live a more abundant and successful life they have to decide what it is they want to “be” in the end. Next they decide how to create the steps on what do “do” to achieve their goal. Finally, they visualize what is it they want to have. From my experience, this is totally backwards.

Actually, the real technique to accomplishing greater success in anything is to recognize what you want to “have,” followed by what you should “do” in order to produce it, and finally, what you will “be” after you attain what you desire.

Proof That Obstacles Can’t Hold You Back

Written by Dr. Michael J. Duckett on February 25, 2010 – 4:20 pm -

It doesn’t matter what level of success you’ve achieved, failure will come walking to your door anytime you start to hold back. If you don’t put your heart and soul into something, failure will follow. To experience a new level of life, try this exercise to help you learn not to hold back:

1. What in the past have you wanted to achieve, made a couple steps toward it and then, pulled back? This is the area that you could succeed in if you would allow yourself to stop holding yourself back. This is the area or thing that you are not putting your heart and spirit into all the way.

2. Write a brief statement (3-4 paragraphs is enough) about what would happen if you didn’t hold back and went all the way for this goal or desire.

3. Write a list of three things which are in your way of achieving this desire.

4. Write three action steps toward your desire that you could accomplish right now.

5. Make a commitment to do at least do these three things. No more and no less-just these three things.

Success is the Next Step

Written by Dr. Michael J. Duckett on February 22, 2010 – 1:04 pm -

Too many people are good starters of something but poor finishers. The challenge in being this way is that success usually occurs in the last twenty percent of the journey toward any goal.

Many times, we desire to accomplish something and set actions in motion to get it. Unfortunately, during the process, the first 80% usually does not produce any visible results. Since nothing is apparently happening, many good hearted people give up and try something different.

It’s not until you exhaust all possibilities that you will be granted the ability to do the impossible. When all your resources, creativity, and stamina run dry, you’re on the verge of success. Success in achieving most of our desires comes to those who are willing to go beyond their own capabilities. This can be a little scary to say the least but any successful person will tell you that’s exactly what was necessary to reach new levels of life.

When you are attempting to accomplish a goal, do not give up. It is probably available to you in the next step. You win if you take it. If you do not take the next step, you will fall into the masses of people who tried to reach a goal, but was not fully committed in making it happen.
