Understanding the Side Effects of LASIK Vision Correction
Written by David Allen on March 13, 2010 – 12:59 pm -With the advancements in LASIK technology, LASIK eye surgery is quickly becoming a popular form of vision correction. This may be largely due to the fact that the surgery can permanently correct your vision and has relatively few side effects. Be advised, this is still a surgery and therefore requires an experienced and skilled LASIK eye surgeon. It is recommended that you choose a doctor with a successful past in performing LASIK.
The side effects of LASIK eye surgery are experienced by a relatively small percentage of patients. It has been reported that about 1 to 5% of patients will experience some kind of side effect. Fortunately, the majority of these patients experience very minor side effects and usually have good LASIK results overall.
Fortunately, surveys have presented a fairly clear explanation of these side effects and the different factors. One of the main factors has been found to be the surgeon you choose. In general, some of the best LASIK eye surgeons have been found to be in San Diego. San Diego LASIK eye surgery surgeons have had excellent results associated with performing LASIK eye surgery. Some of the other side effects include 1.6% of patients reporting sensitivity to light, 3.5% reporting night vision problems, and about 2.7% reporting fluctuation.

Are Wide Barbell Curls Effective For Losing Arm Fat?
Written by Katherine Crawford, M.S. on March 13, 2010 – 12:48 pm -Are you having a hard time choosing the right exercises for losing that loose arm fat? Is all the advice out there confusing you? Well, I suspect that most women are utterly paralyzed by all the information overload.
Maybe you are confused with all the information.
Now don’t start panicking because I’ve been there and done that and I’m ready to share what I’ve learned because I don’t want you wasting any time!
Thus, here is my analysis of wide grip barbell curls for toned arms:
1. Snap shot: This is a great exercise for toning the inside part of the biceps. It can cause a little wrist strain so be careful here. And remember that the biceps muscle is the first part of your arm someone will see when greeting you from the front.
2. Technique: Find a barbell and grasp it with a wide grip. Maintain an erect posture and keep your abs very tight. Slowly raise the bar until it comes close to shoulder height. Then lower it and repeat until you reach exhaustion.

Warning: Going High Carb Can Increase Arm Fat
Written by Katherine Crawford, M.S. on March 13, 2010 – 12:45 pm -Picking the right diet for losing arm flab can be extremely frustrating because there is so much marketing hype that the truth has become hidden amongst all the lies.
Are you having a hard time picking the right diet?
If so, you’re not alone. I suspect that most women are utterly lost when it comes to solid nutrition for arm flab loss, I know I was.
So here are 4 reasons why you shouldn’t go on a high carb diet for arm flab loss:
1. Excess sugar intakes. This can be a very serious issue is you have a sugar addiction. After all, once you start having even a small amount of sugar it will be very hard to stop. Don’t forget that sugar triggers the same receptors as drugs.
2. Can increase insulin resistance. The research has shown time and again that those with insulin resistance do far better with lower carb diets. So if you’re insulin resistant, high carb dieting is not for you.
3. Oscillating levels of hunger. If you eat a large amount of carbs you run the risk of taking your blood sugar for a roller coaster ride because carbohydrates have the biggest impact on blood sugar levels. The best way to counteract this is with an enormous vegetable intake.

Losing Weight – Taming Your Trigger Foods
Written by Sylvie Boey on March 13, 2010 – 12:26 pm -There are certain things we just cannot stop eating once we’ve begun. A bag of chips, bread, a favorite chocolate or candy, whatever it is that sets us off makes us keep eating until we feel over-full or finish the bag. These are what we call trigger foods, and they can be a serious stumbling block to trying to lose weight. It isn’t simply a case of cheating either; these sorts of foods can affect even the most determined individual because they’re as much an emotional crutch as they are a physical indulgence.
Of course, the Habit Changer philosophy isn’t about punishment or monk-like avoidance; it is about careful moderation. We are allowed to enjoy ourselves, and indeed that’s the purpose behind building all of these good habits.
When you practice healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle on a regular basis, you can indulge yourself now and again with those foods you like without worrying. The trick is learning two important ways to keep control of these trigger foods without letting them kick off a big eating binge. Incorporate these techniques into your routine over the next 30 to 60 days to take charge over those trigger foods.

The Myth – How To Lose Weight In A Week
Written by Katherina Dearmitt on March 13, 2010 – 12:19 pm -There are many ‘How to lose weight quickly’ diets all over the media, on television, websites, newsstands, radio, magazines and books.
Most overweight people want to know how to lose weight in a week. They are, quite rightly, desperate to lose excess weight and will grasp at anything that promises how to lose weight fast. But many of these “lose weight fast” diets are based on false promises and ill-founded opinions, and can actually be harmful and even counter-productive, leading to greater weight gain!
Here are just a few of the myths and misconceptions promoted by many weight loss gurus:
Myth: you should cut calories to lose weight.
Reality: reducing calories switches the body into thinking it must preserve fat, and so you end up gaining weight instead of losing weight.
Myth: following set menus and eating plans can help lose weight.
Reality: most diet books and weight loss plans promote set menus of what to eat when. This never works because food preferences and lifestyles vary so much. Indeed, by following any kind of set food menus, day in day out, you are more likely to gain weight because you will either go hungry or get too bored with the monotony. Then when you give up the set menus you will quickly re-gain your weight (and more) as you go back to your old eating habits.

Burn More Fat In Record Time By Changing Your Mindset
Written by Sylvie Boey on March 13, 2010 – 12:19 pm -Have you noticed that, when people are talking about health and fitness, they talk about “getting in shape”. Maybe you’ve heard yourself talk like this. Many dieters have an event or season in mind: the bathing suit season, or a wedding or other event. Many people don’t seem to realize that their mindset is one of their biggest enemies in the battle to lose weight.
A lot of people worry about being out of shape, and they say something like “I’ve got to get in shape and burn off this fat! People never say “I’ll shed all this flab and fat, get myself in shape and keep myself healthy and lean forever.”
Of course, when we set out to lose weight, we’d like to get to our goal and have it last for the rest of our life; but we’re never focused on our long-term situation, only the immediate goal. This “quick-fix” mindset makes us vulnerable to fad diets and the latest machine, gadget or gizmo that pops up on late night TV. Those ads hit you when you’re most vulnerable: you’re half asleep, it’s the middle of the night, and the models demonstrating the diet or the machine are smiling, beautiful, and not even breaking a sweat. Maybe you’ve just had a midnight snack of something you shouldn’t have: ice cream, cookies, cake, or sugary sodas. The ads get you by playing on your emotion and guilt.

How to Drop Pregnancy Weight
Written by Gisela Schiefer on March 13, 2010 – 12:12 pm -Pregnancy sees a lot of changes to the body, including significant weight gain. These additional pounds are essential to support that growing baby within. However, once the baby is born, shedding the excess pounds can be easier said than done. There are many obstacles that get in the way of losing weight at this time of life. An effective weight loss program will address those obstacles and work around them to help you meet your weight loss goals.
#1 ” I don’t have time to work out.
This is the most common reason moms don’t get around to taking off the pregnancy weight. It is certainly valid; moms have a full time job taking care of kids and a house every day. If that mom is juggling a career along with her mom duties, extra time becomes even scarcer. It is important to find a weight loss program that allows a mom to work her workout routine around the rest of her life. This ensures the program will be adhered to long enough for her to reach her weight loss goals.
#2 ” I don’t have the energy to work out.

Increase the Power of Cotton Pads
Written by James Wong on March 13, 2010 – 11:24 am -You may use cotton pads every day for your skin care and cosmetic beauty. But, most of you may just use cotton pads to soak your toner and apply to your face. If yes, you fail to maximize the function power of your cotton pads. Let us understand how we can use cotton pads differently.
First, before you can use your cotton pads, you have to buy ones. When you walk into the drugstore, you may find two types of cotton pads, one is made of cotton and the other is made of non-woven fabric. Both of them are good, but you need to know which one to use for different purpose. The cotton ones are usually thicker and therefore less absorbent. If you use the cotton pads for applying toner, you can choose the non-woven ones. Otherwise, you may need to dispense larger amount of toner every time. The thicker cotton pads on the other hand are good choice to cleanse cuticle or act as cotton masks.
Though many of you like the soft texture of cotton pads, soft cotton pads are not necessarily the best. Whether the cotton pads are made of natural materials or if the cotton fiber will leave on face should be your first criteria to choose cotton pads.
