Find Your Perfect Hotel In Vienna

Written by Tris Jackson on May 5, 2010 – 7:59 am -

When you’re looking online for a hotel in Vienna, you should start by asking yourself what it is that you actually want from the place you’ll be choosing. Although you might think this is obvious, in my experience it’s easy to forget this simple rule that you should keep in your mind.

To get to the bottom of this, you need to go into the question at a basic level. So when you’re looking through the list of Vienna hotels that are available to you, you are in the best possible position to make an informed decision about the hotel that most matches what you’re looking for.

The first thing to look at, obviously, is why it is you want to stay in a hotel at all. Generally, this will be because you’re going on holiday or for work purposes. There are other reasons, such as perhaps visiting people or attending a function, but the most likely scenario is you’ll be there for a break or for work.

Once we have in mind why it is we’re going, we then need to determine where in Vienna will be the best place for us to be based. This will take into account factors such as whether you want to be near the town centre, near to any sightseeing opportunities, or near to where you’ll be working.

Vienna, Austria

Written by Jonathan Asher on January 11, 2010 – 9:18 am -

Vienna is a vibrant capital city that has a lot to offer travelers in terms of history and culture. The city is home to architecture that can only be described as ‘majestic’. From St. Stephen’s Cathedral to the modern design of the Haas House which is situated directly opposite, there are so many historical buildings, museums and cafs in Vienna to keep you occupied for more than a few days.

Vienna may be somewhat confusing to navigate around due to changing street names, however ring roads with multiple names are often close to main attractions. Mariahilfer Strasse heads west up to the main train station, the Westbahnhof which is central to a lot of eateries and hostels. From there you can make your way to the Rathaus, the Museumsquartier, the Opera and a variety of parks and squares.

What would travel be without trying the local fare – Wiener schnitzel, Sachertorte, strudel, sausages and kebabs are just some of the foods that Vienna has to offer. Vienna also has a strong coffee and caf culture where guests are welcome to stay as long as they like and read the paper.
