A Get Well Basket When It Really Counts

Written by Robert Stephens on May 22, 2010 – 11:18 am -

What better way to make someone feel better than to show them how much you care? A gift basket can change any sad, frowned face into a happy face. Why not brighten someones day with a get well basket? A little gesture as simple as this can make a person feel so loved and cared about.

There are get well baskets for every occasion and all ages. There are baskets for children, women, and men.

For the children, there are so many ideals and baskets, it’s unreal. You could always make your own basket, but a lot of people don’t have the time. Many parents don’t want their children to have a lot of junk food and candy, but sometimes you can’t help but spoil them, especially when they’re sick.

If your child is like many children, they like junk food and snacks. There’s a basket for that as well! Your child can have chocolate and vanilla cookies, jelly beans, sugar cookies and playing cards! How cool is that?

I know you’ve heard that soap is made from animal fat. While soap can be made from animal fat, it doesn’t have to be. With soap making, any type of fat will do. This includes fats in the form of oils from plants. For most modern soap makers, these oils extracted from plants are the easiest and most popular fats to use. In addition, these oils can also carry different properties that can be healthy for your skin.

When it comes to soap making, there are 3 different types of oils that can be used. These fall into the categories of carrier oils, essential oils, and fragrance oils. Parts of various plants are used to extract carrier oils and essential oils, while fragrance oils are synthetic.

Below are some carrier oils often used in soap making:

Caster Oil: Caster oil comes from caster beans and is known to help soothe the skin while at the same time holding in the moisture. It also helps to harden the soap and you can use it in conjunction with other oils.

Make Money – Sell Crafts

Written by Crissy Pinkston on March 13, 2010 – 5:53 am -

Many people make crafts for the sheer love of it but did you know that you can most times sell crafts for money? It’s true, a lot of people make good money by having a craft store online.

So how would you go about selling your crafts?

Well to start, you need to figure out where you would like to sell them. My personal favorite place to sell crafts is Etsy. There are a few reasons for this but one of the main ones is because Etsy is specifically for handmade crafts. Plus, it costs very little to list your crafts in your craft store at Etsy.

It is also very easy to set up your own store there. You do not need to be a computer whiz to create your own store. But if you know your way around a computer you can easily make your store unique which is always good to do so you can set your store apart from the rest.

What about after your store is set up, is there anything you need to do?

Styrofoam Epoxy: Great for Hobbies and Crafts

Written by Jeffrey Golaps on March 9, 2010 – 11:12 am -

Styrofoam glue is a distinctly special type of glue that is utilized for many arts and crafts because Styrofoam glue is specially designed with a specific chemical blend that enables the Styrofoam to bond more fully with whatever it is being attached to. This is why it is so powerful even when being glued to other things like cardboard, wood, or other sheets of Styrofoam.

While at initial look this might seem like a really strange specialty glue, Styrofoam glue is extremely useful for a large range of hobbies and assignments. Certain types of model rockets can require this glue to get all the parts glued together. Nothing stinks more than spending good cash on a rocket engine only to have the rocket fall apart in mid-air. No more launches when the parachute refuses to work.

There are also many school projects that may require a very good Styrofoam adhesive of some kind. From model homes, bridges, or Civil War ships – sometimes molding Styrofoam is the top way to go to get the effect that you want.

Epsom Bath Salts You Can Make At Home

Written by Sydney Garrett on February 9, 2010 – 3:57 pm -

Holidays are just around the corner, so it is a great time to think of easy yet thoughtful gifts to give. In this case, homemade bath salts are an amazing gift idea that has cheap ingredients all around!

How do natural minerals and essential oils sound to you? You can’t resist the benefits of aromatherapy, especially when they come naturally when putting together homemade bath salts that will pamper anyone that uses them.

Want a more soothing gift-giving experience this time around? Be creative yet thrifty. Gather up some Orange and some Bergamot oils and fill a jar of homemade bath salts with them. Or try my all-time favorite: Strawberry.

No need to rush to the market if you already have a handful of jars at home. You know Martha Stewart wouldn’t do that unless she had to. If you already have some at home, reuse them and make them new all over again by filling those with epson bath salts.

Maybe you don’t have any jars at home. That’s fine. You’ll still save money if you buy jars in bulk. EBay always has a marketplace full of jars. Make it a one-stop shop and get your bath salt ingredients (including sea salt) while you’re at it.
