The Three Bands Known For Pioneering The Grunge Music

Written by Luke Stone on June 24, 2010 – 10:15 am -

Seattle in the American northwest is famous for being the birthplace of the grunge music scene. Artists such as Kurt Cobain and his band Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and of course Alice in chains seemed to quickly discover overnight success thanks to this genre of music.

These bands may have been the more famous of the grunge genre but they were definitely not the first bands to discover the mix of Seventies rock and punk. The Seattle area was brimming with lots of other bands that had a great influence on the grunge music scene.

There are three bands that stand out for me that helped form the mainstream grunge sound that has become so popular today.

First up I would like to mention a band called Tad. They may not have had a great success in the mainstream music scene, but what they did have was a great heavy grinding sound that made them revered by grunge fans.

It is such a shame that they never really got that much success on a wider scene because they play a great heavy style of music that grunge fans love.

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania – For American Civil War Enthusiasts

Written by Owen Jones on June 15, 2010 – 8:30 am -

If you are at all interested in either Pennsylvania or American history, you will certainly have heard of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and the historic activities that took place there during the American Civil War. The three day long battle that took place there in July 1863 was cruel and bloody, but was claimed as a victory for the Unionist North.

Even so, one quick look in the Union Army burial ground in the Gettysburg National Cemetery on Cemetery Hill will convince you that the victory came at a very high price. The cost in human life and human suffering was enormous on both sides. Later on in the same year, Abraham Lincoln gave a discourse which was to become renowned throughout the world as the Gettysburg Address.

These days, the Gettysburg National Military Park is a tranquil place, but it acts as a moving reminder of the battle that was fought, the strategies employed, the heroism of the combatants and the readiness of military leaders to sacrifice the common soldier for political objectives.

Eating Out At Fast Food Places Made Our Country Poor

Written by Aimee Jones on March 10, 2010 – 10:59 am -

Have you ever thought to question what the value of a good home-cooked meal might be? Is kind of a strange thing to think about, because food in America has gotten so cheap that we can now buy a hamburger for a buck or actually get an entire value meal for less than five dollars. That seems like such a small amount of money that we can’t help but want to go for the more convenient food right?

Americans love convenience shopping. In fact, convenient shopping is such a big deal that if you go to Wal-Mart you’ll find that most of what they sell are convenience products. Now, some people might argue that convenience is something that people were willing to pay for. And so that actually creates a lot of products’ value. I would just say the people are lazy.

In this country persons are so excited about not having to work tough to have ahead that instead of saying that we want delicous foods folks say that they just want quick food or foodstuff that makes us feel great that we don’t have to believe about.

[I:http://sacredcowtipping.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/LJJames8.jpg] Do you remember the Story of 11-year-old Carlie Brucia? Carlie was the little girl from LI NY who while staying with her mother down in FL was kidnapped and murdered on Super Bowl Sunday, 2004. Her abduction was captured on video in front of the car wash where she was Kidnapped by Joseph P. Smith, who has since been found Guilty of first-degree murder, sexual battery and kidnapping.

The story was carried nation wide and was heartbreaking to all who heard it. Now there is an old saying that every dark cloud has a Silver lining and if that is true then the Silver lining here is Matt Barbis, Carlie’s Cousin who started the Rose Brucia Educational Foundation (http://rosebrucia.org) with the Mission of reducing child abductions.

Matt goes around to Schools and preforms Puppet Shows and teaches children how to react and what to do if someone ever tries to adduct them. As you can imagine Matt’s Mission does not come without its costs and the Foundation runs on Donations from Groups,Individuals and Businesses.
