Alitalia Airlines After The Merger

Written by Tom Martens on July 1, 2010 – 9:33 am -

Alitalia Airlines is headquartered in Rome, Italy and is the’th largest airline in the world. Its main hub is at Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport in Rome. Alitalia Airlines serves 24 domestic and 66 international destinations. Alitalia?s top 12 flights originate from Rome. It is a member of the Sky Team Alliance, one of the top airline alliance programs in the world, and offers a frequent flyer program called MileMiglia. Members earn miles by flying on Alitalia or its partner airlines, including the airlines that form the Sky Team Alliance.

Alitalia’s first domestic flight was in’46, from Turin to Catania and then to Rome. Alitalia’s maiden international flight took place in’47 with a flight from Milan to South American. Its present fleet consists primarily of Airbus and Boeing aircraft, as the company makes strategic changes to expand its presence in the international market.

Like many other airlines, Alitalia has faced financial challenges almost continuously since its inception, with just one profitable year,’98. Its most serious financial issues were due to problems with labor issues and government interference. The Italian national government stopped subsidies in 2006, and the airline declared bankruptcy in 2008. The airline then became a private company when Air France-KLM acquired a 25 per cent stake in the airline from the Italian government.

A Slower Pace Of Life In Naples

Written by Ron Williams on July 1, 2010 – 6:56 am -

Along the southern Gulf Coast of Florida, tourists will locate Naples, a quaint city that is a bastion of class, elegance, and outdoor activities. The town’s personality has two separate faces, and yet they work in magnificent harmony. On one hand, Naples is a city loaded with galleries, high-end boutiques, and bistros that can rival the finest in the nation. On the other hand, Naples is a relaxed and welcoming fishing town, enamored of outdoor sports and a laid-back lifestyle.

The city was founded in 1880 by a group of real estate investors who purchased 8,700 acres on the beach and began selling lots. A 16 room hotel and a pier were constructed by the developers and soon played host to the rich and famous from across the United States, including the sister of then-President Grover Cleveland. These days, many historical buildings are quaint bed and breakfasts.

The fishing in Naples is some of the best on the Gulf Coast. The temperate waters of the Gulf of Mexico provide opportunities for sport fishermen year-round. Offshore fishing in the open waters or a slow day on the marshy backwaters are equally rewarding. Guides and charter vessels are available and plentiful in Naples, but visitors can feel free to explore the coastline on their own. Tackle shops, boat rental companies, and marinas are available for vessel and equipment rental, or just advice on the best local fishing spots.

The Collapse Of Gold Coast Accommodation Providers – Is It Safe To Use ‘Faceless’ Website Operators?

Written by Ashraf Kamha on June 30, 2010 – 3:44 pm -

The last few weeks has seen the collapse of a number of Gold Coast accommodation providers, leaving thousands holiday makers out of pocket and without holiday accommodation.

One such company was Accommodation 1, which sold the bulk of its accommodation through eBay . The eBay discussion forum has been flooded with comments from holidaymakers, with victims vowing to fight for money lost.

The company was placed in the hands of liquidator Jason Bettles and Ivor Worrell of insolvency firm Worrells Solvency & Forensic Accountant. The company traded through two online portals: the website ourholiday.com.au (which has since been taken down) and through gifts2U.com.au on the auction site eBay Australia. The site focused on Gold Coast apartment blocks such as Circle on Cavill, the Q1 and Chevron Renaissance.

Bettles said 90 landlords at Circle on Cavill, the Q1 and Chevron Renaissance also were hit. On top of the customers who have been caught by the collapse, Bettles says a number of landlords had signed long-term rental agreements with Accommodation 1 and are now owed back rent.

Tips For The Most Economical Campervan Insurance

Written by Jessica Colby on June 30, 2010 – 3:36 pm -

Some families who own campervans travel a lot with them and therefore need full coverage campervan insurance. However many more families only take the occasional weekend trip and so they would sign up for a limited coverage policy. This means that the motor vehicle is not used as much and the insurance is cheaper because it only covers when the converted sleeper van is being used, which is not as often as a full coverage policy. Thinking about the usage is only one thing to consider when looking for insurance for a families van.

Because they are converted vans, they are the smallest and cheapest of the motor home ‘family’ and are more economical to insure. The majority of them only hold two, maybe four people comfortably.

Many people could save money on their insurance by taking out limited insurance policies. These are polices made for those who are only going to use their cars for camping sporadically during the year, say for a couple weekends here and there. The policies are known as limited mileage coverage and the premium or payment will be dependent on the amount of miles one puts on their motorized sleeping machine during a certain period of time.
